MUW readers Gaby, Andrew, and Tyler send word that UWS women’s clothing retailer WiNK has closed their location at 188 Columbus (between 68th & 69th) for renovations.
Hopefully these are “real” renovations, and not the fake kind stores put up signs for before permanently closing.
I’m not saying that’s the case here, but it’s worth keeping an eye on. Either way, devoted Wink customers can visit their locations on the UES or SoHo, as well as shop via their website.
In other women’s clothing store closings…
The Esprit in the Time Warner Center recently shuttered.
Similar to the recent downsizing of the UWS Talbot’s, the Esprit closing is the result of large-scale problems for the company in general, rather than an issue with the specific TWC location.
Esprit is actually closing ALL their directly managed stores in North America and is looking for a licensing partner. The Hong Kong-based company plans to focus on Asia and Europe.
Quick post tonight — back with more tomorrow.
