Mentioned earlier today that tomorrow will be the final day of the Filene’s Basement liquidation sale (80% off everything).

Now there’s word of another Upper West Side store closing/liquidation.

After seven years in the neighborhood, department store and apothecary Thérapie New York is closing its doors. Their lease has expired and they’re now conducting their own liquidation sale.

Thérapie’s COO sent in the news earlier today. Everything in every department, from toys to cosmetics to drugstore items, is discounted at least a 20% – 40%. The sale will continue until all merchandise and fixtures in the store are sold.

I spoke to someone there by phone and they expect the sale to run through the end of February, although that’s probably a moving target. I suspect the “good stuff” won’t last that long, so if you’re interested in snapping up some deals, it might be worth heading over sooner rather than later.

Thérapie is looking to secure a new space, but whether or not it’s on the UWS remains to be seen. Regardless of the retail store closing, their website will remain open for business at therapieny.com (the liquidation discounts are only available at the physical store).
