Upper West Side Duane Reade Picket Scheduled For Sunday

The latest salvo has been fired in the on-going battle between the new Duane Reade at Broadway & 72nd and neighbors who are upset by its video billboard. If you need some background, MyUpperWest has previously discussed it here and here.
I was handed the flier pictured above earlier today as I walked out of Trader Joe’s (located next to the Duane Reade in question). As you can see, a full-on picket is scheduled for this coming Sunday (May 1st) at 1 pm. The lengthy list of sponsors and co-sponsors include Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer, State Senator Tom Duane, State Assemblymember Linda Rosenthal, City Councilmember Gale Brewer, Coalition For A Livable West Side, West 75th Street Block Association, and the West 80s Neighborhood Association.
If you’re planning to do any Duane Reade shopping this weekend I would highly suggest doing it on Saturday…
