It’s a double-feature of sorts today on Upper West Side, with both TV and movie stars floating around the neighborhood.

Season five of the hugely-popular teen drama Gossip Girl, starring Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Ed Westwick, & Chace Crawford, among others, began shooting in New York this week. Today the show will be filming in the area of Columbus & 77th (h/t to @JLPinNYC & @jason_tucker).

Further north, neighborhood fixture Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close will be filming in the vicinity of Riverside & Broadway, between 112th & 115th. Production will also be around 108th & Amsterdam/Broadway in the evening.

ELIC has been in the area so often over the past few months that I’m running out of things to say about it. I’ll just remind you that it stars A-listers Tom Hanks (even though I hear “Larry Crown” is awful) and Sandra Bullock. If you have nothing better to do tomorrow than to stalk the set, you might catch them walking around the ‘hood (h/t to OnLocationVacations.com / @olv).
