Looks like the J. Crew Mens Shop in the Time Warner Center first mentioned over the summer is finally open.

Tipster Kevin, who should probably have his own section on MyUpperWest at this point, sent word that the store officially opened for business yesterday.

Esquire.com’s Style Blog had a short post on the new space earlier today. Per Esquire:

From the outside, it doesn’t look like the mall-like setting that surrounds it; J.Crew turned to the oldest foundry in the country, taking their old gears and metal-working materials, then casted them into wall art for windows that are as manically organized as they are masculine. “I have always had a love for old-fashioned hardware stores,” says Frank Muytjens, head designer of men’s wear, as he walks us through the store. “The hammers, the scales, and all that. We want to keep it understandable to all men.”

In addition to all the J. Crew men’s clothing that you would expect, the new store also features a dedicated suit shop.

Elsewhere… there was flurry of activity taking place in two storefronts on the west side of Broadway between 78th & 79th when I walked past this afternoon — both are located in the historic Apthorp.

The Tumi store first mentioned back in June is officially opening tomorrow (Thursday).

Right next door, in the space most recently occupied by Yankee Bill’s Halloween costume pop-up shop, a new pop-up store is also opening tomorrow. I don’t have many details at the moment other than to say it’s an apparel store for “tween girls.”

Finally, if you missed the post earlier today, I finally have pictures that show what I was talking about on Monday regarding Estihana restaurant trying to obscure the signage showing they were closed by the Department Of Health.

Sorry for the short post tonight — I’ve got a playoff softball game that I’m running late for.

I’ll have an update on Jacob’s Pickles tomorrow night.
