Above, Eater NY gets a sneak peek at the progress on graffiti-inspired decor at soon-to-be-open Graffit (69th between Broadway and Columbus). The Spanish restaurant, headed up by chef Jesús Núñez, who is also a visual artist, is slated to open in November.
In closing news, the Shining Star 24 Hour Diner, located on Amsterdam between 78th and 79th, closed early last month after 16 years in business. No word on any possible replacements for the reliable diner-food joint.
