Upper West Side Openings and Closings
Westside Independent reports that Zen Palate, the vegetarian restaurant with a location on Ninth Avenue at 46th, is opening an UWS location on 105th near Broadway. The restaurant previously had a location at 77th and Broadway which closed in the summer of 2007.
Also opening is a third location of frozen yogurt joint Berrywild. Eater New York reports that the eatery, which serves six flavors (in two textures) of yogurt with a variety of toppings, opens today at Broadway and 82nd.
Finally, keep your eyes open for openings and closings news at two well-known locations. The battle continues for a wine bar on the ground floor of 25 Central Park West (at 62nd), with the community board approving plans despite community members’ resistance to the bar, and Fairway Café (Broadway at 74th) is rumored to close, prompting a highly-publicized movement to save it.
