Today’s Upper West Side openings and closings news comes to us from the lower-west-Upper-West-Side.  First, a shop that exclusively sells truffles and truffle products, Urbani Truffles, is opening soon at 60th and West End Avenue.  The new American headquarters features a sleekly-designed store and an array of edibles coming from the haute cuisine fungus, from fresh truffles to truffle oil.

Meanwhile, a closing has occurred one block away, albeit temporarily.  Olympic Flame Diner, the Greek-focused diner on 60th and Amsterdam, has closed for renovations.  Signs on the window indicate that it will reopen when renovations are complete, but no timetable was given.
