Upper West Side Openings & Closings: Farrow & Ball, Plus Changes At Recipe, Bar Luna & Cafe Deux Margot
If you’re planning to redecorate your home any time soon, take note that the neighborhood is getting a new high-end paint and wallpaper store.
MUW reader Eric reports that British retailer Farrow & Ball will open a showroom on Columbus, between 75th & 76th. Per F&B’s website:
Farrow & Ball has been making paint in Dorset, one batch at a time, since the company was founded and remains one of only a few companies making a full range of traditional and modern paint finishes of the highest quality.
Farrow & Ball painted wallpapers are quite unique as they are produced using our own environmentally friendly water based paints and traditional manufacturing methods. Our patterned wallpapers are block printed and our stripes and stries are trough printed. All our wallpapers are made to order in our factory in Dorset, home to Farrow & Ball for the past sixty years.
No word yet on an opening date.
Elsewhere… I’m not sure how to classify these, so I figured I’d throw them into this post. A few local restaurants have recently changed their operating hours:
- Recipe: They’re no longer serving lunch, which is a HUGE disappointment. They had one of the best deals on the UWS in terms of quality and price.
. - Bar Luna: I walked past the other day and there was a sign on their door indicating they’re no longer serving brunch.
. - Cafe Deux Margot: Frequent tipster Norma wrote in to say they’re now serving dinner. Coincidentally, it’s been almost exactly one year since Norma also wrote in to say Cafe Deux Margot was opening.
