Upper West Side Openings: Pinkberry

Wednesday, March 13th, 2013

Broadway in the West 90s is rapidly becoming a mecca for all things relating to frozen yogurt.

There’s the iCrave at Broadway & 95th, a Lite Choice across the street, a Tasti D-Lite half a block away, and a 16 Handles three blocks north.

As of today, you can add Pinkberry to the list — a new location just opened at 2508 Broadway (between 93rd & 94th).

Of particularly note, this store is one of the first in the country to offer the brand’s new revamped menu, including the addition of Pinkberrygreek.

Here are some details passed along by a rep:

With the addition of Pinkberrygreek to the menu, Pinkberry offers a handcrafted yogurt bar where consumers can discover and enjoy a variety of fresh and frozen yogurt experiences thoughtfully crafted with a dedication to quality.

“Pinkberry has always believed in innovating from the core, which for us is yogurt,” said Ron Graves, CEO of Pinkberry. “We are excited to bring a delicious Greek yogurt with superior freshness and taste to the category, to help customers discover nutritious and delicious ways to snack with the goodness of yogurt.”

While Pinkberry’s signature light, refreshing and clean finish frozen yogurt flavors are the perfect treat, Pinkberrygreek fresh yogurt is the perfect protein rich snack. Pinkberrygreek is a silky smooth all-natural, nonfat yogurt with a clean finish offering 15g of protein per 5oz with no added sugar, thickeners or preservatives.

Each batch of Pinkberrygreek can be traced back to happy and healthy cows that live on a sustainable farm. The farm fresh milk creates a signature silky smooth yogurt that is both highly nutritious and delicious.

Pinkberry created five signature recipes using fresh toppings to create yogurt experiences that are delicious and nutritious. Customers can also create their own perfect snack that keeps you going throughout the day.

The following sweet and savory Pinkberrygreek signature pairings are available in store:

  • Chocolate Berry: Blueberry, raspberry, dark chocolate granola, chocolate shavings, cinnamon honey
  • Strawberry MangoStrawberry, mango, strawberry puree, toasted almonds, shaved coconut
  • Kiwi Strawberry: Kiwi, strawberry, mango, honey almond granola, vanilla agave nectar
  • Tomato Basil: Grape tomato, fresh basil, olive oil, sea salt, balsamic glaze
  • Sunflower Cucumber: Cucumber, sunflower seed bites, olive oil, chili powder

Sounds like a nice option if you’re looking to indulge but still keep things sorta/kinda healthy.

This is Pinkberry’s fourth Upper West Side location (fifth if you include the store one block south of Columbus Circle) and their 14th overall in Manhattan.

If you have dietary restrictions, note that the new store is certified Kosher by National Kosher Supervision.

This space was previously home to an antique shop.
