capeman-lineAbove, theater fans line up and make themselves comfortable in the attempt to get the limited free tickets to The Capeman earlier this week.  The Paul Simon musical only ran for three nights, from August 14th to August 16th, at the Delacorte Theater (mid-park near 81st), making the lines for the tickets (distributed at 1:00 pm each day at the Delacorte’s box office) long and full of some serious fans.  Line-sitters napped, chatted, and even ordered food, as many UWS restaurants were willing to deliver to those in line.  Despite some performances delayed by downpours, the show went on, and the audience got to experience The Capeman’s run put on by the Public Theater.  The Delacorte’s free summer shows have come to a close for a year, but will be back next year with more Shakespeare in the Park.  Photo courtesy of The New York Times‘ City Room blog.
