It was just a couple of days ago that MyUpperWest featured a retrospective of some of NYC’s finest taxi drivers’ work… and now we can add Taxi vs. Garbage Truck to the growing list of smash-ups.

This was taken Wednesday evening, around 6:30 pm at the corner of Broadway & 81st. If it’s not clear from the picture, the entire driver’s side was smashed in. I’m not sure exactly what happened, but the garbage truck appeared unscathed and no one seemed to be hurt. I’m guessing this was the result of some sort of ill-conceived lane change. Always check your mirrors! (although in this case, there is no more mirror…)
