Above, @aaps59 snaps a photo of the line outside of the Upper West Side Apple Store (Broadway at 68th) at 5:10 pm on Friday afternoon. The line was still going strong, filled with people eager to get a new iPad 2, after a full day of sales. Apple fans lined up starting as early as dawn on Friday to get one of the new gadgets, which went on sale at 5:00 pm Friday. The line reportedly got about 5 blocks deep, according to some Twitter users, and even a celeb was spotted (@Joelle_writes spotted Whoopi Goldberg at the store on Friday).
