Monday, November 21st, 2011

townhall2If you’re looking to kvetch about something in the neighborhood, tonight is your opportunity.

There’s a town hall meeting on the Upper West Side this evening  hosted by City Council Member Gale Brewer. Other officials slated to attend include Congressman Jerrold Nadler, State Senator Tom Duane, State Senator Adriano Espaillat, Assemblymember Richard N. Gottfried, Assemblymember Linda B. Rosenthal, , City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, and Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer.

Gotham Gazette reports the following:

The audience will have the opportunity to discuss quality of life issues during a question and answer session with local elected officials and representatives of key city agencies.

Assistive listening devices and headphones will be available in addition to live captioning for all by a CART reporter.

DNAinfo adds:

The town hall meeting will include members of Community Board 4, Community Board 5, Community Board 7, New York City Department of Buildings, New York City Department of Education, New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, New York City Department of Sanitation, New York City Department of Transportation, New York City Housing Authority.

Community Board 5 notes:

“The meeting will cover issues related to the Upper West Side and Clinton neighborhoods, and will be held in conjunction with Congressman Jerrold Nadler and other West Side electeds [sic].”

The event is scheduled for 6:00 pm tonight at the JCC In Manhattan (334 Amsterdam, at 76th). It’s a great opportunity to meet your local elected officials if you’ve got something that you’d like to discuss.
