UWS Celebrity Real Estate News: A-Rod Flips Rushmore Apartment For “Significant Profit”

Most Yankees fans will tell you that Derek Jeter’s “flip” was the best in team history, but (former?) Upper West Sider Alex Rodriguez just made a pretty nice flip of his own.

He recently sold his 35th floor condo at The Rushmore (80 Riverside Boulevard, at 64th) for a “significant profit.” A-Rod purchased the apartment for $5.5 million less than a year ago.

WSJ has the details on the sale. After closing in March of last year, Rodriguez put the 5 BR, full-floor unit back on the market in October with an $8 million asking price.

The apartment recently went into the contract with WSJ reporting that “several brokers familiar with the sale said the contract price was high enough for the Yankee star to lock in a significant profit.”

No word yet on whether A-Rod is staying in the neighborhood or heading elsewhere.
