arodcarroll-oconnorA-Rod, who has been tirelessly seeking an apartment as he rents in the high-end 15 Central Park West, took a look at another Upper West Side apartment, according to The New York Post (via Curbed NY).

The Yankees star allegedly checked out a 5,600 square foot home in the yet-to-be-opened-to-the-public Aldyn (63rd and Riverside).  The duplex is located on the 21st floor and includes a private pool and outdoor hot tub.  Yowza.  The Aldyn has been getting some media attention lately with an upcoming fashion-meets-design showcase, “American Fashion: Designers at the Aldyn.”  Top fashion names like Diane von Furstenberg and Nicole Miller have designed units in the building for a months-long showcase, sure to draw more notice to the now-quiet Riverside South.

In other celebrity real estate news, The New York Observer reports that the Central Park West home that belonged to All in the Family‘s Carroll O’Connor has sold.  The trustees for the late star sold the 75 Central Park West home for $2.75 million.
