Was having lunch at French Roast (2340 Broadway, at 85th) yesterday when my girlfriend spotted Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio in the back corner.
Ms. Mastrantonio’s Wikipedia page says she lives in London, so either she was just visiting or it’s not up-to-date.
UPDATE 5:37 pm: Looks like she might have a place in the neighborhood. MUW reader Bridget just posted this on Facebook: “she shops at the walgreens at B’way and 97th. b/c everyone needs toothpaste.”
She had a 14-episode run on Law & Order:Criminal Intent in 2010, but most of her notable screen-work is from the 80s and 90s, starting with her debut in 1983 as Tony Mantana’s (Al Pacino) sister Gina in Scarface.
That was followed up with memorable turns in The Color Of Money, The Abyss, Class Action, and Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves. Her last major film role was probably The Perfect Storm in 2000.
In addition to her films, Ms. Mastrantonio has also done significant stage work as well.
