Posted back in July that the Upper West Side outpost of Fatty Crab would be closing in the “fall” to make room for uber-popular West Village Chinese/dim sum restaurant RedFarm’s expansion into the neighborhood.
Looks like “fall” meant “Labor Day,” as Fatty Crab will shuttering tonight.
As mentioned in the earlier post, Fatty Crab is on the hunt for new digs elsewhere in the neighborhood. Until they find a new space, devotees will have to head down to their West Village location.
Still no word on an opening date for RedFarm, although I believe they’re targeting sometime before the end of the year.
MUW reader @jillcwilliams reports that family-owned Lisca Ristorante recently closed (660 Amsterdam, between 92nd/93rd).
Their website has been taken down and their phone is disconnected.
