UWS Deal Alert: Cheap Dinner & Wine Special

Wednesday, June 20th, 2012

Good deal today from Slighly Oliver, the gastropub that opened at 511 Amsterdam (between 84th & 85th) last fall (coverage here & here).

They’re offering dinner for two with a bottle of wine for 50% off.

You’ll get an appetizer, two entrees, two desserts, and a bottle of wine for $58 (normally $116):

An excellent menu is like the temperature: It changes with the seasons. Heat up your evenings out with today’s deal from Slightly Oliver, and revel in a thoughtfully curated offering of dishes made from seasonal ingredients — all at a pretty cool price. Pay $58 for a three-course dinner for two, featuring a choice of a shared appetizer, two entrées, two desserts, and a bottle of house Cabernet Sauvignon or Sauvignon Blanc (a $116 value). Start with toast topped with fois gras and chicken liver or a flatbread garnished with figs, artichokes, and ricotta. As you and your date split the included vintage, savor a roasted branzino paired with endive, fennel, and lemon, or dig into braised short ribs. An apple-huckleberry crisp and a scoop of ginger ice cream make for a happy conclusion to a meal at this neighborhood gem, which earned four stars on OpenTable — and will definitely elevate your palate to new faren-heights.

Slightly Oliver garners a very solid 4-star average from 64 reviewers on Yelp.
