UWS Openings & Closings: H & M

UPDATE 11/15: H&M is now open
There have been rumors swirling for a while that clothing retailer H&M was looking for space on the UWS.
Now there’s conformation — the chain will open a store in the Time Warner Center this fall.
Racked has the details, including this note:
Not only will the location be H&M’s first spot on the Upper West Side, but it’ll also be the first in Manhattan to have a designated men’s shop with its own special entrance. (You hear that, H&M guys? No more traipsing through racks of maxi dresses for you.) Of course, the store will also carry the women’s collection, including lingerie and accessories, and kid’s clothes for newborns through eight-year-olds.
Should be a nice addition to the UWS shopping scene.
Elsewhere…
If you missed the post this morning, neighborhood standby Pomodoro (229 Columbus, btw. 70/71) was closed by the Department of Health. Look for them to reopen sometime in the next few days.
Tonight is the final night of the MTA’s FASTRACK maintenance on the B/D trains (F/M too). There are major service changes between 10:00 pm and 5:00 am — click here for full details.
Off to softball — back at it tomorrow.
