UWS Openings & Closings: The Body Shop, Bank Of America, The Cottage

Looks like the Body Shop at 2159 Broadway (corner of 76th) is about to bite the dust.
They’re closing on Saturday and are having a pretty big sale until then.
The entire store is 30% off.
Gift sets are marked down 50%, and then ALSO eligible for the additional 30% discount (good for a total of about 65% off).
Not sure about the reason for the closing — nobody at the store wanted (or was able) to give me an answer.
Thanks to MUW readers Shani and Eric for the tip.
Elsewhere…
The Bank Of America slated for Broadway & 81st is getting closer to finally opening. The project has been in the works for almost a year.
In May, a construction worker told me they’d be opening in July. Yesterday, a worker told me August.
I doubt anyone but the most die-hard BofA customers gives a crap about this opening, but it would be nice if they could actually, you know, finish the damn thing.
Mentioned on Monday that Chinese restaurant The Cottage had reopened after somewhat mysteriously closing. Thanks to MUW reader @dasindonna, the reason behind the closing is a mystery no more:
“There was a gas problem in the apt bldg in which The Cottage is housed. Consequently, they put in their own gas line & opened.”
Finally, a reminder that it’s Day 3 of the MTA’s latest FASTRACK maintenance project. There are station closures and service changes on the B/D (and F/M) lines from 10:00 pm – 5:00 am.
