Looks like the neighborhood has a new vintage jewelry store.
Pippin Vintage Jewelry recently opened their second NYC location at 313 Columbus (between 74th & 75th).
This space used to house Michal Golan Jewelry. Thanks to MUW reader @TovahGo for the tip and photo.
Pippin seems to be quite the popular spot — its Chelsea location gets an impressive 4 1/2 stars from Yelp, based on a sizable 73 reviews.
MUW reader Cassie reports that Tale Thai appears to be closed — the restaurant had only been open since June 2011. Per Cassie:
Went by for dinner last night and looks like it was in the process of changing to something else. Bummed. Mixed Yelp reviews but I never had a bad meal there.
I had never been, but it looked like a decent spot and I heard mostly positive things.
Finally, a quick update:
Posted earlier today about tomorrow’s Macy’s Fireworks Show on the Hudson. I cited some sketchy information indicating Riverside Park would be closed, but that is NOT the case. Riverside Park will be open as usual.
(I had to rewrite that post from my parents’ house while my 4-year-old nephew ran around the room vying for my attention — apologies if it’s not the clearest thing I’ve ever written…)
