Posted in September about upheaval at popular UWS Spanish restaurant Gastroarte (formerly Graffit), located at 141 W. 69th, between Broadway & Columbus.

The restaurant was closed for almost six weeks and was reborn this week as Andanada 141 — a “more refined Spanish cuisine concept.”

Actually, I should say it was supposed to be reborn. As you can see in the sign above, they were slated to reopen on Monday — aka the day of the most destructive storm in the history of New York City…

I just tried calling the restaurant and no one picked up, so it’s unclear if they ever actually managed to open this week.

The restaurant’s website is just a placeholder at the moment, and there’s nothing of note on their Facebook page either.

Frankly, other than it being a Spanish restaurant that may or may not be open, I can’t tell you much.

It will be interesting to see how the restaurant does. Gastroarte chef and owner Jesus Nunez drew nice reviews from NYT’s Sam Sifton and NY Mag’s Adam Platt, and NYT readers listed it as one of their favorite restaurants in the neighborhood.

Unfortunately, he is not associated with this new incarnation.
