If you’re a pet owner and are looking for a little extra “protection” for your beloved critter, Grace & St. Paul’s Church (123 W. 71st, between Broadway & Columbus) is holding their popular “Blessing Of Animals” event tomorrow (Saturday).

The festivities begin at 5:30 pm. Guests and their pets will gather inside the church for singing and a story about animals, followed by an individual blessing for each pet.

Barring any last minute emergencies in the neighborhood, participants will be joined by an NYPD officer and horse (although they’ll be staying outside the church… I don’t know if that’s a Church & State thing with the NYPD or because it’s, you know… a horse).
