If the hue of the Central Park Reservoir looks a bit off these days, it’s not your imagination.
There’s some sort of algae bloom affecting the color.
MUW reader Ben J. sent in this photo, taken Tuesday morning, along with a note pointing out the “oddly different” appearance:
“Been running around the reservoir for years and have never seen it this color.”
I reached out to the Central Park Conservancy, which responded with the information about the algae bloom. They added that NYC DEP manages the reservoir and “are aware of the issue” and “will be working on it.”
Anyone else notice this?
