UWS Raymour & Flanigan?

While many have wondered what will fill the empty storefront on 66th and Broadway that once housed Tower Records, followed by a brief stint of Circuit City, no reliable information had been released of what will come next.  Well now, word on the street is that the space will soon be home to Raymour & Flanigan, a furniture store on the moderate end of the price spectrum.  My Upper West tipster Craig S. let us know that a worker mentioned the Raymour & Flanigan opening, and Jill R. reports the appearance of a sign in the window announcing the news.  R&F currently has a location on 14th and one on 125th, both of which receive less-than-stellar reviews of their products and customer service.  What do you think of a Raymour & Flanigan move to the UWS?

  1. Grrrr… This store has low-quality ugly furniture made of cardboard. Why can’t we get something cool in this space? Each store is a step down from the last.

  2. This truly sucks! Do you know by any chance what is going in on the corner of 87th and broadway?

  3. I have no problem with that store moving to 66th st. I have more of a problem with the snooty obnoxious attitudes of the people of the UWS. Who’s telling you to shop there? Would you rather have the space sit empty for another year or were you hoping for a mega-Starbucks so you can drink your lattes while you do more complaining.
