UPDATE 1/10/13: Piccolo Cafe files application to sell liquor in addition to wine and beer

Upper West Side newcomer Piccolo Cafe (313 Amsterdam, between 74th & 75th) has been open for almost exactly a month now.

The folks over at Glenwood Management have an office nearby and have quickly become fans of the place — Glenwood blogger Austin Scott Brooks posted a nice review of the new spot yesterday.

You can read Austin’s full write-up at GlenwoodNYC.com, but here’s the intro:

In an ideal world there would be a place like Piccolo Cafe every few blocks or so, all over town: a casual, all-day eatery with an interesting, varied menu and a kitchen that can crank out solid, satisfying food at a reasonable price. And if said place is as ridiculously cute (in a very tasteful way) as Piccolo Cafe UWS? All the more reason we’ll be spending a lot of time there over the coming weeks and months, sipping coffee, munching egg sandwiches, eating pastas and salads.

Menus are available below, with additional information at Piccolo’s website.

Seems like a nice addition to the neighborhood. Anybody been?

UPDATE: If you missed it in the comments section below, MUW reader Michael weighed in on Piccolo:

My wife and I absolutely love this place! The food is authentic and delicious and the decor and staff are equally warm and friendly. We have to hold ourselves back from ordering from here multiple times a day. We’re happy to have them in the neighborhood.
