The scene outside the Camden Resident Hotel (205 W. 95th) on Friday, 7/20. Camden manager John Baisley was stabbed to death and resident Bernardo Paulino has been charged with second-degree murder

Posted yesterday that a man was found stabbed to death inside a hotel near Broadway & West 93rd on Friday afternoon.

That news reminded me that DNAinfo recently ran a brief profile on Bernardo Paulino, the man accused of second-degree murder at the Camden Resident Hotel (205 W. 95th) on 7/20.

You can read the full story here.

According to his brother, Edwin Figueroa, Mr. Paulino, 34, is an army veteran with a history of mental health problems, including depression and schizophrenia.

“He was never right after he came back home,” said Figuero. “I have no idea what he’d seen over there, or what he went through, but that’s when he started his medication, that’s when he was diagnosed.”

Just a terrible story all around.
