Thanks to frequent MUW tipster Jim for sending in this photo — looks like Strawberry is closing their UWS location at 2689 Broadway (between 102nd & 103rd).
I called over there this morning for details and had an entirely unproductive conversation; I’m pretty sure English was a third or fourth language for whomever I spoke with.
She did confirm the store was closing, but didn’t have any additional information beyond what you can see in the photo above — they’re offering discounts of 20% to 70%.
If you’re not familiar with Strawberry, here’s the “About” section from their website:
Strawberry is one of New York’s leading retailers of popular priced junior, junior plus and misses clothing and accessories. Up-to-the minute fashions arrive on a daily basis with brand names selling at a fraction of the department store prices.
My experience with these closing sales is that while they tend to drag on for a while, the “good stuff” goes quickly. I’d head over ASAP if you want to do any bargain hunting.
Kudos to Jim for his e-mail subject line: “Strawberry (Fields) Not Forever”
