UWS Subway Closings: Limited A/C Overnight Service This Week Due To MTA FASTRACK

The MTA’s FASTRACK maintenance program returns this week.

This time it’s affecting the A and C lines (plus the E, although that’s not an UWS line).

As a result, there are station closings and service changes from 10:00 pm – 5:00 am through Friday morning.


Information is available at MTA.info. The quick and dirty details are this:

  • No A/C/E trains at stations between 59 St/Columbus Circle and Jay St/MetroTech from 10 pm – 5 am (though the morning of Friday, 7/13).

Here’s the full breakdown of changes from the MTA:

How will trains run during this service change?

A line icon No service between 59 St-Columbus Circle and Jay St-MetroTech

A line icon trains run via the D line icon and F line icon between 59 St-Columbus Circle and Jay St-MetroTech: 

1Via the D line icon between 59 St-Columbus Circle and 47-50 Sts.

2. Via the F line icon between 47-50 Sts and Jay St-MetroTech. 

C line icon Service to Manhattan runs until 9:30 PM. Brooklyn-bound service runs until 10 PM. 

E line icon No service between 7 Av/53 St and World Trade Center

E line icon trains are rerouted to the F line icon in Manhattan:

1Trains run via the F line icon between 5 Av/53 St and 2 Av.

2. The 2 Av F line icon station is the Manhattan terminal for  E line icon trains to/from Queens.

3. No trains between World Trade Center and W 4 St.

What are the travel alternatives?

• Use 6 Av D line icon F line icon stations to connect with rerouted A line icon E line icon trains.
• Take 1 line icon 2 line icon 4 line icon 5 line icon 6 line icon N line icon R line icon for service to/from Lower Manhattan.
• Take 1 line icon 2 line icon for service to/from 34 St-Penn Station and Times Sq-42 St/42 St-Port Authority Bus Terminal.
