Verizon to Make Buzzed-About iPhone Announcement at Lincoln Center Tomorrow

Monday, January 10th, 2011

verizon-iphoneSlews of technology buffs, finance-world people, and citizens annoyed with the poor service that AT&T offers with the iPhone are eagerly anticipating an announcement taking place tomorrow morning at Lincoln Center.  Verizon plans to make an announcement at Frederick P. Rose Hall (in the Time Warner Center, Columbus Circle) regarding “latest news.”  While they didn’t offer any specifics, it is widely known that the announcement is likely about the addition of the iPhone to their selection of cellular phones.  In fact, Apple CEO Steve Jobs is rumored to be taking the stage tomorrow with Verizon President Lowell McAdam, making it even more likely that tomorrow’s announcement will mark the end of the exclusive hold that AT&T has as an iPhone carrier.  The event, which will start at 11:00 am Eastern time tomorrow, is invitation-only for journalists, but you can expect to hear the news spread shortly after the announcement is made.
