Vintage Train & Free MetroCards On The 2/3 This Weekend

If you haven’t already read about it elsewhere or seen it in person, the MTA has been running vintage trains on the 2/3 line since the beginning of the month as part of a promotion for HBO’s Boardwalk Empire series.
MUW reader Drew sent me the info at the beginning of the month and I’ve somehow managed to forget to post it two weeks in a row.
This weekend is the culmination of the promotion, and apparently “brand ambassadors” (that’s fancy-talk for entry-level HBO marketing people) will be handing out free MetroCards.
You can read full details at the Huffington Post and the Village Voice. The vintage train (circa 1917) will be making express stops at 96th, 72nd, and 42nd streets from 12:00 – 6:00 pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
