This Week: Central Park Film Festival

Sunday, August 22nd, 2010

cp-film-festivalThe 2010 Central Park Conservancy Film Festival takes place this week, screening a series of fantastic movies for free under the stars in the park.  The festival, taking place from Tuesday to Saturday, brings New York’s iconic skyline, buildings, and neighborhoods to center stage with this year’s theme, “Iconic New York.”  Enjoy classics like Saturday Night Fever and King Kong, and finish the festival with Viewers’ Choice night, where the winner of last month’s vote, Woody Allen’s definitive New York film, Manhattan, will be screened.  This year, the festival is moving from SummerStage to the landscape north of Sheep Meadow, behind Mineral Springs (mid-park at 69th).  The movies will screen rain or shine at 8:00 pm, with gates opening at 6:30 pm.  Check out the full schedule of films below.
