This Weekend: Bollywood and Anime in America
Come to the American Museum of Natural History (Central Park West at 79th) this weekend for “Bollywood and Anime in America.” This weekend festival will feature several performances, conversations, films, and hands-on activities relating to Bollywood and anime. Much like the ancient Silk Road (a fascinating topic currently presented as an exhibition at the museum), today’s social media promotes cultural exchange. One instructive example of such global exchange is the spread of India’s Bollywood films and Japanese anime throughout the world. Discover and experience how and why these forms have been quickly embraced by American pop culture while enjoying music, dance, and more during this family-friendly weekend. From a Bollywood film and a Bollywood dance performance to Japanese anime films and lectures, the weekend is filled with interesting, fun, and free (with museum admission) activites. Check out the full schedule of events at the American Museum of Natural History’s website.
