This Week’s Cooking Events at the JCC
The Jewish Community Center (76th and Amsterdam) has some great cooking events scheduled this week to help beginner chefs feel more comfortable in the kitchen and advanced chefs improve their repertoire with new recipes. First, chef Linda will lead a class tonight on traditional vegetarian Indian dishes. As she shares tales and adventures of her recent travels, Linda will lead you through some great Indian recipes, from chana masala to vegetable samosas. Next, get ready for the holidays tomorrow by taking a class on healthy holiday desserts. Come learn from Adeena Sussman, collaborator with the Food Network’s Ellie Krieger, as she makes flavorful and healthy desserts like chocolate almond meringues and individual pumpkin flans. This Saturday, it will be time for another great class about Thai dishes for couples. Chef Megan helps couples add a little heat and spice to their cooking routine as they create Thai dishes from chicken coconut soup to massaman beef curry with peanuts.
