The West Branch Restaurant (Broadway at 77th) may be facing financial woes, reports Grub Street.  The restaurant, opened by Upper West Side restaurateur Tom Valenti in late 2008, may be changing concepts after the owners are allegedly months behind on their rent.  While Valenti had no comment for the story, Jeffrey Chodorow, an investor in West Branch and owner of Fatty Crab, confirmed that a change of concept has been discussed, and even mentioned that he may have an interest in the space if it closes.  We will keep you updated with any information on West Branch as it comes in.
