The Wizard of Oz Screening and Concert in CP Tomorrow
With only a few more outdoor concerts scheduled for the year, don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy a free open-air event tomorrow with some great music and film. Netflix is putting on a live concert at Rumsey Playfield (SummerStage, near Bethesda Terrace and 71st) in Central Park to help honor the 70th anniversary of the original release of The Wizard of Oz. First, some popular current artists will perform contemporary interpretations of the classic songs from the film. The current lineup of artists includes Grammy and Academy Award-winner Jennifer Hudson, Dancing with the Stars and American Country Music winner Julianne Hough, and the talented drummer from The Roots, ?uestlove, who will act as musical director for the evening. The performances will be followed by a screening of the 70th anniversary edition of The Wizard of Oz. The event is free, and no tickets are required, but it is first-come, first-served, so head out early, and enjoy the great show!
