DNAinfo reports that a Saturday night street fight involving roughly 20 people ended with a viscious attack on a 22-year-old women in the vicinity of 116th and Broadway.

Ash Sinha, 28, who lives on 109th street, is accused of jumping on the victim and “punching her in the face, slamming her head into the ground, kicking her and possibly biting her.” Despite swelling to her face and cuts to her knees, the victim did not need to be taken to the hospital.

After the attack, Sinha fled into the Columbia campus, where he was taken down by four campus security guards who held him in place until police arrived.

In addition to charges of criminal mischief and misdemeanor assault, Sinha allegedly kicked a police office in the face during his arrest, resulting in a charge of felony assault on a police officer as well.

It’s unclear if what started the fracas, or if any Columbia students were involved, but witnesses reported that Sinha could be heard ranting “something about Obama and Iraq.”
