The New York Historical Society (Central Park West at 76th) is holding a Times Square Photo Contest with cash prizes, reports DNAinfo.  Professional and amateur photographers alike are welcome to submit their photographs of contemporary Times Square, with photos getting the chance to become part of a future exhibition at the New York Historical Society (date and location TBD).  To enter, submit original digital photographs of any location within West 42nd to 47th Streets between Broadway and Seventh Avenue, including exterior architectural photographs, outdoor portraits, group snapshots, photographs depicting billboards and advertisements, and interior images of notable area buildings.  First prize is $500 cash, with other cash prizes going to second and third, as judged by an independent panel.  Submissions are allowed through January 31st, so send in your New Year’s Eve photo, or any other Times Square photo, via the contest website.
